Respondents refused admission against reserved quota of five percent towards sons, daughters and spouses of employees of university. On appeal Supreme Curt held that there was no rational behind for such reservation as it does not have a reasonable nexus with object sought to be achieved by University. Further held that such reservation was violative of Article 14 and University cannot give preferential treatment to a class of person without there being any justification for same.
