In this case, appeal is against the extension of probation beyond the period of two years as fixed by the rules. The petition is governed by the rules of 1982 that supersede the rules of 1968. The court held that any earlier instructions have no application as new rules have been issued and as per the new rules, there is no fixed period of probation as fixed by the rules so extension of probation is valid.
