Petitioner worked on post of dean for nine years. Respondent declared that petitioner was not eligible to hold post of dean. High Court denied relief to petitioner despite the fact that that petitioner held post for nine years. Nothing on record to show that Selection committee had discretionary power to relax qualifications. Supreme Court invoked Article 142 and Order was given to quash appointments and to insider whether petitioner was eligible.
