Respondent initially appointed for a period of six months on contractual basis. Remained in service for period of two and half years as appointment were extended from time to time. Subsequently relieved from service. Sought continuity of service. High Court directed continuity of service till regular appointment were made by appellants. Supreme Court held that service of appellant cannot be thrust upon appellants as they were appointed ad hoc basis. If appellant advertise the vacancies case of respondent would also be considered.
