ORDER

 

1. An affidavit has been filed by Mr. A.R. Siddhiqui, Superintending Archaeologist, Agra Circle, stating therein that the estimate for construction of boundary wall from Tansen Baradari (near Sweet Tank) to Lal Darwaza at Fatehpur Sikri is approximately `. 1 crore. It is further stated that the Director General, Archaeological Survey of India vide Office Order dated 6.5.2010 has sanctioned an amount of `. 67,71,000/-. This is a positive step in the direction of protecting the monument of National Heritage.

 

2. We direct the concerned authorities to start construction work of the boundary wall immediately and submit a progress report to this Court, along with the photographs, on or before 13th July, 2010.

 

3. The Archaeological Survey of India has also submitted a revised conservation programme for ensuring the drinking water facilities at Fatehpr Sikri. This would include fixing the borewell, laying of water supply and RO Plan and also for repairing of Mint House at Fatehpur Sikri.

 

4. We request the Archaeological Survey of India to submit progress report of the work done and also submit periodical reports to this Court regarding the construction of the boundary wall.

 

5. List this matter on 29th July, 2010.
