This appeal is against the order of the High Court where it had agreed to the conferment of the D.Sc
degree on the respondent because it had submitted the thesis. The Court held that conferment of the
degree is not a right of the person but the privilege of the university and directed the Syndicate to
examine the matter and decide it within 3 months form today.
