The bench is possibly hesitant about taking action against the highest law officer of the government who is appearing before them every day. Perhaps they are meeting him socially and you do tend to be a little diffident in cases involving such people." The above statement was made by Mr. Prashant Bhushan to the question that was put to him - "But why didn't the court pull him up then? Why was it so indulgent?" Mr. Prashant Bhushan states that he has the highest regard for the Supreme Court. He also tenders apology for his statement published in the weekly newsmagazine referred above. In this view of the matter, we are satisfied that nothing further deserves to be done with regard to this aspect.
